There are many things that are essential to arriving at true peace of mind, and one of the most important is faith, which cannot be acquired without Prayer.
How God Changes Us: "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life" Proverbs 4:23: Many of our prayers go unanswered because we want God to change our circumstances, but God is more interested in changing our mind. God needs to work on us because transformation will not happen in our life until we renew our mind. Our life is shaped by our thoughts, every day we are in battle with our mind that’s why it is important in what we fill our mind with. Satan wants control of your mind because it is the key to peace and happiness. When we put on the armor of God by studying our scripture we can battle anything that comes our way.
Diamond:There should be no excuses when the Lord call us, just like a diamond we are flawed, we all have sin and fall short of God. Our flaws make us unique, the Lord wants to polish us up and use us to let people see what he has done. So let your light shine as you live in the Lord. Let our mouth speak blessings to uplift others instead of tearing them down.
Two Opinion Approach to Life: Our conviction guide our approach to life. How we view God is how we view our life. We cannot have a double mind approach to life, double mind mean we think with two minds one mind with 2 opposition view point. When you agree with everyone that means you stand for little. Conviction is a single minded commitment that God is God throughout the bible it warns us that God despises a lack of conviction. Psalm 119:113 David said he hate double minded people, these are people that have skeptical notions as opposed to the certainty of God’s word. Matthew 12:30 Jesus said whoever is not with me is against me Jesus wants us to have one mind we cannot love him and be his enemy. You either belong to Christ or belong to Satan for when we do not gather souls to God we scatter them from him. James 1:8 double minded man heart is divided between God and the world.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways he do not have true wisdom, he perpetually disagrees both with himself and others and will be perpetually running into inconsistencies. A double minded person has no settled principles who is control by passion who is influenced by popular feelings. The popular saying having your cake and eat it too the bottom line is you cannot have life both ways we either serve God or serve idols. We never have to go looking for our calling in life we should spend that time looking for God. Stay close to God and you will find his will. When we are not in step with God we lose on both counts. Staying out of step with God we will never know who God is, that’s why Jesus told us we have to pick up our cross on a daily basis and follow him because we cannot have God and ourselves.
Isiah 53:10-11 It was God will for Jesus death to save us. The principles of the Cross show us:
1. Passion - Jesus will to suffer for us Heb:12:2 (Jesus endures the cross for the joy set before him for us).
2. God Forgiveness - Jesus said it was finished because the work he was send to do is finished he paid the debt for our sin. Luke 23:39-43 Jesus saw the thief heart on the cross and forgive him. Jesus also forgives us Luke 23:34.
3. God Perspective - Always pray for God to give us perspective. Jesus pray for the hour to pass Mark 14:35-36. Always pray to see our perspective at God will.
How has the Cross of Jesus changed your life?
Expiration Date: We all have an expiration date, nothing last forever. Jesus told us to store our treasures in heaven, because things of this world will not last forever. Jesus says in Matthew 6:21 “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” What do you treasure? Will it last?
Finding faith in the dark: We all go through difficult times and wonder where God is. Whether it is losing a child, a job, a relationship or unanswered prayers. In Matthew 26:36-56 Jesus prays in Gethsemane for God to remove his cup of suffering, but was also willing to accept God NO, so that the rest of the world can accept God Yes. Our unanswered prayers give us an opportunity for God to use us. God invite us to lay down our story for his bigger story, so that people around us can be touch and change the way we live our part. How we respond to God NO, help us see God blessings in the midst of the suffering. In Psalm 131 David said he is like a weaned child. Weaning is when God withhold things from us. Many things we want we are not ready for or we deserve better than what we are asking for. When God withhold things from us, it is his way to promote our growth, it helps our faith grow. We must always remember God see the bigger picture of what we are asking him to do. We need to pray and ask God to help us look at our smaller picture from God perspective.
The 3C's of life: CHOICE, CHANCES, CHANGES. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.
